Kraken has secured licensing deals with large international energy clients like E.ON, EDF Energy, as well as Origin Energy in Australia and Tokyo Gas, replacing their core technology stack, re-imaging their operations with an unblemished track record of transformation success. We are on track to meet our ambition to grow to 100 million households by 2027 through expansion of the business with increasing interest and activity in the Japan market. We have localized the platform and onboarded customers in the market with an eye towards growth throughout Japan and APAC.

We're looking for someone to lead sales for Kraken across Japan, reporting to the Global VP of Sales in London and the Head of Sales in APAC. You’ll work as an expert in our Kraken Technologies and KrakenFlex cloud software platforms and the energy tech market to build and lead the Kraken sales team in Japan. You will drive our mission in a new market and sell advanced technology to accelerate future energy systems. You’ll be supported and connected to the global development and marketing teams in our London, Tokyo, and US offices.

What you'll do

    • Develop client sales and growth/revenue for Japan
    • Execute on product portfolio messaging and positioning: Co-develop and support the the value proposition for the Kraken software platform and our technology capabilities 
    • Be an expert on the energy industry and Japanese market as well as Kraken’s software platforms and services. You’ll develop an informed point of view on this market, the competition and how to position Kraken as a leader within that space. 

What you'll need

    • Stellar performance track record building and closing sales in the Enterprise software as an experienced sales professional 
    • Deep experience presenting and negotiating with senior level clients and initiating strategic conversations 
    • To be a team player who can work effectively with your national and global team
    • To be flexible to travel domestically & internationally
    • Native or bilingual level in Japanese, fluency in English

    • Ideally, you'll have:
    • Experience in energy tech space is a big plus
    • Solid and varied network of energy clients, partners and solution contacts across Japan
