We're on the lookout for an Operations Director who will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and collaborate closely with the Delivery Director on energy efficiency obligations, such as the ECO (Energy Company Obligation) Scheme. The ideal candidate will have proven experience interacting/managing Ofgem - this is a key part of the role!

What you'll do

    • Lead Implementation Risk Assessment: Lead the team in generating and delivering energy efficiency measures in homes of those most in need, ensuring compliance with regulations and operational excellence while identifying potential risks associated with implementation.
    • Quality Assurance and Compliance Oversight: Oversee quality assurance and compliance on measures generated under the ECO Scheme, working to translate regulations into effective working practices and assessing risks for impact and likelihood.
    • Team Management for Standards: Manage the quality assurance team responsible for ensuring high standards in measure delivery and run the compliance team to ensure adherence to scheme rules, implementing risk mitigation strategies as needed.
    • Innovative Process Enhancement: Innovate with tools and techniques to enhance efficiency and speed of processes while maintaining quality standards and addressing identified risks effectively.
    • Collaborative Problem Solving: Collaborate with the Delivery Director to address challenges, explore opportunities, and implement strategies with delivery partners, considering risk implications.
    • Continuous System Improvement: Continuously improve operational systems for enhanced scheme delivery effectiveness, incorporating risk management practices into daily operations.
    • Progress Reporting and Analysis: Report progress to the leadership team, including key performance indicators related to measure delivery, compliance rates, cost efficiency, and risk management effectiveness.
    • Financial Oversight and Audit Leadership: Manage financial aspects by overseeing supplier payments and leading auditing activities conducted by regulators, company auditors, or third-party bodies with a focus on risk assessment.

What you'll need

    • Excellent decision-making skills, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges and drive continuous improvement.
    • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the energy sector or similar regulated industries.
    • A background in overseeing quality assurance and compliance processes.
    • Proven ability to identify potential risks associated with implementation and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
    • Creative thinking and innovative mindset to enhance efficiency and speed of operational processes.
    • Experience managing financial aspects, including overseeing supplier payments and leading auditing activities.
    • Proficiency in progress reporting and analysis, including tracking key performance indicators related to measure delivery, compliance rates, cost efficiency, and risk management effectiveness.
    • Ability to communicate complex information to leadership and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
This is a hybrid role with travel to London and our Nottingham office.
