About the role
We’re looking for a Product Manager or senior Product Manager to lead our Cloud Platform team and report to Iryna Melnyk, our Product Director.
We are open to Product Manager (Level 3) candidates who are excited and ready to grow their discovery and decision-making skills. You’ll be part of a cross-functional, mission-oriented Product Leadership Team (PLT) with an Engineering Manager and a Principal Engineer sharing accountability for your team’s outcomes.
You and your team will be on a mission to make our SaaS offering the first and best choice to experience what we have to offer, enabling secure, scalable, and reliable service to our global customer base, and helping shape the offering that will help us win new markets.

What you’ll do:
- Build an understanding of our customers across a range of industries and technology stacks
- Use insights to shape the key future opportunities for Octopus Cloud
- Collaborate with your team in thinking big, unifying the technical vision, customer needs, and business goals to find solutions to deliver on these opportunities
- Work in close collaboration with our Revenue and Marketing organizations to help accelerate Octopus Cloud adoption
- Inspire and excite the team to do the best work of their careers through stories of the purpose and impact of their work
We are looking for someone like you who:
- Has multiple years of experience working on an Enterprise B2B SaaS product
- Can guide discussions with customers to uncover opportunities
- Has experience assessing opportunities and setting direction for the product/product area
- Is comfortable managing a technical product, including aspects such as security, scalability, availability, etc.
- Has a highly collaborative approach and creates alignment within the organization across executives, decision-makers, and influencers
- Represents your product, always looking for opportunities to improve engagement and support customer success
- Has worked closely with marketing, sales, or customer success teams to identify and prioritize changes that will unblock product adoption
Compensation:
Octopus has an internally open and transparent system for compensation. Any Octonaut can view the compensation for any role at any level. This ensures people doing the same work with the same skill get paid the same.
The compensation for this role is:
Level 3 - Product Manager
Maturing: $140k AUD / $150k NZD, Performing: $155k AUD / $165k NZD
Level 4 - Senior Product Manager
Maturing: $170k AUD / $180k NZD, Performing: $185k AUD / $195k NZD
Salaries exclude Super and KiwiSaver.

Interview process (~3.5 hours total interview)
Below is the interview process you can expect for this role. We know interviewing can seem daunting, but rest assured, we designed our process to move quickly while still getting you all the information you need.
Step 1 [30–60m] – 👋 Introductory call with Talent Acquisition to discuss your background, the role, and answer questions.
Step 2 [60-90m] – ☕️ Coffee chat interview with a hiring manager and another Octonaut, exploring your experience (you’ll get the questions in advance).
Step 3 [1hr 40m] – 💻 Team interview with a small cross-functional group (e.g. Technical Lead, Design Lead, Product Manager), where we explore a product you led/worked on in the past, and your experience in more depth. This is another chance to ask us questions on top of mind and learn from various perspectives and experiences of folks on the team.
Step 4 [30m] – 👥 Meet the PLT session to connect with your future peers, share your approach to product, and ask further questions.
