About the role
Are you looking to grow your accounting career in a dynamic, fast-paced environment?
As the Associate Accountant specializing in Procure to Pay (P2P), you'll play a vital role in ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations across the Americas region.
This role involves managing vendor and expense transactions, processing invoices, preparing journal entries, and handling prepayment accounting. You'll also be responsible for payment processing, expense reports, account reconciliations, and providing support for month-end close activities such as bank reconciliations, fixed assets, and prepaid payments.
Beyond daily operations, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with both vendors and internal teams, assisting with vendor registration, purchase orders, invoice approvals, and payment inquiries.
Your contributions will help streamline financial processes while ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Additionally, this role provides exposure to process improvement initiatives, allowing you to refine workflows and develop your expertise in key financial functions.
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager LATAM, this hybrid role will be based out of our Mexico City office, where we foster a collaborative and creative work environment. We encourage our team members to join us in the office at least two (2) days per week.

- Proactively manage the Accounts Payable (AP) email inboxes for Mexico and Canada, ensuring timely responses and resolutions to both external vendors and internal partners.
- Verify that appropriate and adequate purchase orders and other necessary documentation are in place prior to organizing vendor invoices into financial systems.
- Accurately capture and record vendor invoices using Yooz and Netsuite systems, ensuring they match the corresponding purchase orders and validating general ledger (GL) codes.
- Collaborate closely with the Global and Americas Finance teams and other business units to support vendor creation, address invoice or payment inquiries, and resolve related issues.
- Familiarize yourself with Ogury’s procurement and expense policies and apply them diligently in daily transactions.
- Oversee and review employee expenses to ensure adherence to the local expense policy, and work with colleagues to educate them on an policies for LATAM and Canada based employees.
- Prepare weekly payment batches in accordance with country-specific regulations and the company's cash forecast.
- Monitor inter-company balances, execute necessary payments to the group, and reconcile inter-company payable accounts on a monthly basis.
- Assist the finance team in continuous business process improvements across various functions.
- Manage P&L expense accounts, ensuring accurate validation, system entries, and payment posting throughout the month.
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure month-end completeness and financial accuracy; Including ensuring vendor invoices are captured on time, adhering to month-end closing schedule and preparing reconciling Accounts Payable
- Monitor bank transactions, conducting monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.
- Record and reconcile Fixed Assets, including depreciation adjustments on a monthly basis.
- Maintain and review the prepayments schedule, ensuring accurate amortization entries.
- Manage the Citidirect platform, including vendor creation and bank information updates to ensure accurate and secure transactions.
- Set up and process approved payments on the banking platform on a weekly basis, ensuring compliance with payment schedules and financial controls.

- Strong foundation in accounting principles, with the ability to apply knowledge to daily financial operations.
- Proficiency in Excel, NetSuite, and other internal financial tools, with the ability to analyze and manage data efficiently.
- Exceptional multitasking and prioritization skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to think of the bigger picture and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring professional correspondence with both internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sense of accountability, ensuring timely completion of tasks and responsibilities.
- Confidence in presenting financial data, findings, and work output, both internally and externally.
