About the Role
We are looking for a Data Science Manager to lead part of our growing Data Science organization. This role is not technical hands-on, but instead focused on people management, project leadership, communication, and delivery accountability.
As a Data Science Manager, you will oversee a team of 5–6 data scientists, ensuring projects run smoothly, KPIs are met, and progress is clearly communicated to top management. You will play a key role in coaching team members, structuring priorities, and creating a high-performing, supportive environment.
You’ll collaborate closely with our Tech Lead, who will drive technical decisions, while your focus will be on team growth, project delivery, and stakeholder alignment.

What you will be doing
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4 data scientists, ensuring regular 1:1s, performance assessments, and growth opportunities.
- Drive project management and reporting: track KPIs, OKRs, milestones, and deadlines to ensure clear visibility across leadership.
- Act as the bridge between the team and top management, providing accurate, timely updates on progress, blockers, and outcomes.
- Partner with Tech Leads to balance technical trade-offs with business deadlines and priorities.
- Foster a collaborative, positive team culture — managing challenges, addressing concerns, and helping individuals stay engaged and productive.
- Support rationalization of team structures and headcount as the Data Science organization evolves.
- Apply Agile methodologies and scale-up management practices to ensure efficient workflows in a small-team environment.
What you will bring to Ogury
- Proven experience as a manager or project lead in Data Science, Data Engineering, Analytics, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong communication and reporting skills, able to explain complex metrics and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Skilled in project management: tracking KPIs/OKRs, setting timelines, managing dependencies, and ensuring accountability.
- Natural people leader: experienced in 1:1s, coaching, and building team cohesion in fast-moving environments.
- Comfortable under deadline pressure, with the ability to make trade-offs and keep teams aligned.
- Background in Data Science, Analytics, or Engineering preferred (to understand KPIs and technical discussions), but this role is 100% hands-off technically.
- Experience in AdTech is a plus, but not mandatory. Experience in tech scale-ups or small teams is highly valued.
- Fluent in English; French is a plus.
- Must be based onsite in Paris — this is a hybrid in-office leadership role.
