The Job
We are looking for a hands-on Data Governance Manager to build and lead our Data Governance efforts. You will lead a small team of Data Stewards/Analysts (a mix of direct and dotted-line reports), enhance and update current Data Governance processes and standards, establish new Data Governance processes and standards, understand the company and company needs, build a prioritized roadmap, execute on that roadmap, and evolve the team and roadmap as the company evolves.
Data insights are a critical component of Omnidian’s value proposition, and having data that is accurate and consistent both in perception and reality is fundamental to our success. Our business is rapidly growing, and we need a strong leader who can build a strong Data Governance program alongside the company’s growth. This role sits within our Engineering department and reports directly to our Director of Data Management.
What You'll Do

- Recruit, hire, and lead a small team of Data Governance professionals, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Establish and continuously improve Data Governance processes and standards to ensure trust in our data.
- Provide mentoring, coaching and leadership to matrixed (dotted-line) data analysts/stewards.
- Provide structure, mentoring and leadership to data stewards; Resolving issues escalated by data stewards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver Data Governance solutions that provide real value.
- Build and lead a data stewardship program across the organization, consisting of direct reports as well as cross-functional team members.
- Create and maintain a structure to track adherence to contractual and regulatory data privacy compliance.
- Develop a Data Governance roadmap that aligns with company goals and evolving needs.
- Act as an evangelist for Data Quality and Data Governance, raising awareness and improving data culture across the organization.
- Create data standards and business rules, and specifying which data must be shared organizationally
- Ensure that legal and other compliance standards are followed Advocate for better use and management of data within the organization
- Create centralized training materials for Data Quality/Data Governance Communications, outreach and adoption for Data Governance standards and processes
- Manage Data Governance projects from conception to implementation, ensuring on-time delivery.
- Participate in Data Governance activities such as data dictionary processes, data mapping, creating and maintaining ERDs and other data related documentation.
- Identify and prioritize data-governance projects, such as data quality and data securityTrack data quality by profiling/reviewing data and monitoring metrics on data quality
- Plan, monitor, and enforce the management of data assets Catalog, monitor, and identify data assets that are essential to the organization's operations or services
- Assign ownership of data, ensure there is a clear RACI (responsible, accountable, consulted and informed) matrix in the organization
- Understands data governance commitments in our contractsActs in ‘consult’ and ‘informed’ capacity to Infosec team on data privacy

Who You Are
- Data Governance Expertise: You have in-depth knowledge of Data Governance processes and standards and have experience building a Data Governance program.
- Leadership Abilities: You possess strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a small team toward achieving goals and delivering high-quality solutions.
- Communication: You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Value Creation: You understand business needs, users, technology, and data, and collaborate with stakeholders and your team to design and deliver data foundations that provide business value.
- Problem-Solving: You demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
Experience You’ll Need
- 5+ years of Data Governance experience.
- 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Expertise in Data Governance processes and standards.
Experience That's a Plus
- Experience in the clean energy industry.
- Experience with Salesforce, Databricks, Sigma or RDS.
- Experience supporting Data Governance with both manual processes and with tooling (such as Informatica or Collibra).

Midpoint: $160,000
