Who You Are:
You are a strategic, hands-on Data Engineer who thrives at building the systems that keep our business running smoothly. You design and maintain a reliable, scalable data infrastructure that ensures the right information is available when and where it’s needed. You take ownership of keeping our data secure, compliant, and high-performing, while also putting processes in place for backup and recovery. Just as importantly, you collaborate across Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to deliver easy-to-use and scalable data solutions. In this role, you act as both a builder and a connector, strengthening our data foundation and empowering teams to make smarter, faster, and more informed decisions.

The Task At Hand:
The Data Engineer reports directly to the Business Systems Analyst and plays a central role in designing, developing, and managing Once Upon a Farm’s enterprise data infrastructure. This position is responsible for building scalable, automated data pipelines that ensure reliability, security, and performance across all aspects of the business.

You will leverage your expertise with Azure Data Factory, Python or another scripting language, and SQL to design and maintain robust ELT jobs, automate data ingestion and transformation, and uphold strong data governance practices. In addition, you’ll use Azure Logic Apps and/or Power Automate to orchestrate workflows and eliminate manual processes through automation. You will also help develop and maintain a CI/CD pipeline in Azure DevOps, ensuring consistent, secure, and traceable releases.

To succeed, you will partner closely with all aspects of the business to proactively monitor and optimize data systems to enhance performance, ensure compliance, and safeguard the company’s most valuable data assets. This role is essential in driving Once Upon a Farm’s digital transformation and enabling a scalable, automated, and insight-driven organization.

In This Role, You’ll Bring With You:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
• A minimum of 5 years in data engineering, database administration, or related fields
• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Azure SQL, Data Factory, Logic Apps, and DevOps/Git in a production environment
• Strong skills in a programming language (Python, JavaScript, or C# preferred) and SQL for data transformation and automation
• Proven ability to design and optimize data pipelines and workflows
• Experience with relational database design and warehouse architecture
• Familiarity with Power BI and building data models/dashboards is a plus
• Understanding of data security principles and compliance frameworks
• Strong problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and communication skills
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Slack, and other professional platforms
• Up to 10% travel required: Although this role is a remote work-from-home position, we “Farmers” do meet as a company and/or as a department a few times a year. Anticipate possible travel up to a few times each quarter
• Genuinely passionate about improving childhood nutrition for a healthier and happier planet

• Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity, deeply understand business needs, develop a cohesive strategy, and make decisions requiring a high level of judgment
• Previous exposure to cross-functional work between all aspects of the business preferred
• Must reside in the United States to be considered for this position

Compensation:
• Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt
• The anticipated salary range for this position is $110,000.00 to $135,000.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a few factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses, stipends, equity, and role-specific perks.
