Research Engineer, Reasoning

San Francisco /
Reasoning /
Many people think deep networks are inherently unable to reason — we'll find out! The Reasoning team explores the capabilities of our models on tasks that require planning, deep understanding, and avoiding dumb mistakes. The most outstanding deep learning results are increasingly attained by combining cutting-edge algorithms with massive scale, requiring both research advances and impressive feats of engineering.

The Research Engineer sits at the intersection, applying a mix of both machine learning and engineering skills, for example: designing, implementing, and improving a massive-scale distributed machine learning system, writing bug-free machine learning code (surprisingly difficult!), and building the science behind the algorithms employed. As part of a small, cooperative team, you’ll need to be excited about diving into and improving whatever part of our stack is critical to achieving our research goals.

We expect you to have:

    • 2+ years of ML work experience
    • strong programming skills
    • enthusiasm for  scaling up experiments
