We are looking for a senior ESG Data Partnerships Specialist to help us optimize and scale our data partnerships and research capabilities. We are a leading provider of ESG data-driven investment solutions, and we are looking for a committed team member to help grow and maintain our ecosystem of ESG data across asset classes. Using your knowledge of ESG data sets and business partnerships, you will curate OpenInvest’s data vendor pipeline, manage our data relationships across J.P. Morgan and external organizations, source new data opportunities for the team, and deepen our research and data capabilities. 

What You’ll Do:

    • Lead efforts to maintain and grow OpenInvest partnerships with ESG data providers, including NGOs, academic institutions, and traditional data aggregators  
    • Manage the end-to-end process of onboarding new OpenInvest ESG data sources, including but not limited to: screening for potential new data partners, data trial and feedback and partnering with J.P. Morgan counterparts through the contracting process
    • Research potential new datasets across ESG product applications and investment asset classes; serve as top-of-funnel for ESG Research data pipeline 
    • Serve as the single point of contact for OpenInvest ESG data vendors and prospective data partners 
    • Conduct regular touchpoints with OpenInvest ESG data partners; gather information on data vendor updates, industry trends, and potential new collaborations 
    • Track and communicate data updates (to OpenInvest and J.P. Morgan stakeholders) for implementation in updated ESG product methodologies
    • Represent OpenInvest ESG data needs at J.P. Morgan forums where data onboarding prioritization is determined 
    • Research market best practices and opportunities for continued enhancements of ESG data; conduct market assessment to inform existing data prioritization and new dataset development
    • As needed, support content generation around our differentiated ESG approach and relevant sustainability themes/trends, particularly as they pertain to OpenInvest’s unique data approach
    • Alongside team members, serve as subject matter expert on OpenInvest data sources and methodology across all ESG products

Who You Are:

    • 5-8 years of experience in data research, data analysis, and/or relationship management with data providers
    • 2-3 years of experience in ESG, Sustainability, SRI, or Impact Investing 
    • Experience presenting ESG data and solutions to clients and non-experts
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skillsStrong data analysis skills and analytical mindset; experience working with large datasets (e.g. in Excel)
    • Excellent project management and organizational skills
    • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility to colleagues and clients

    • Ability to identify data/research needs and propose solutions 
    • An affinity for creating and growing professional relationships across different business contexts

    • Exceptional writing and verbal presentation skills
    • Ability to excel in a high-performance environment while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with others

Nice to Haves:

    • Experience evaluating new data sets for suitability, especially in an ESG/Sustainability context
    • Research specialization/background in an area applicable to Sustainable Investing
    • Experience in ESG-focused education or communication efforts
    • Experience with SQL and/or Python
