Location: Anywhere in the US

We are looking for a Fixed Income Specialist to help us build and execute our ESG investing and research strategy. We are a leading provider of ESG-optimized investment solutions and are looking for a committed team member to build and grow our suite of personalized, sustainable investing products across Fixed Income Investments. Using your knowledge of Fixed Income sub-asset classes and OpenInvest’s unique Cause-focused lens, you will help to design novel sustainable investing solutions that address an existing gap in the industry. 

What You’ll Do:

    • Support the design and implementation of novel Fixed Income investing ESG products across the OpenInvest platform
    • Develop Cause-aligned scoring methodologies across investment sub-asset classes, primarily with a focus on Sovereign debt 
    • Conduct ongoing research into the competitive, regulatory, and market landscape of Fixed Income ESG products for continued enhancements of OpenInvest’s ESG products and to inform existing Cause prioritization and new Cause development 
    • Identify, screen, and recommend 3rd party data from for-profit, NGO, governmental, academic, or other sources for Fixed Income methodologies 
    • Generate new ideas/approaches for reporting tangible impact metrics to advisors and investors
    • Write research and methodology documentation for new and updated Fixed Income investing ESG products
    • Support Fixed Income investing ESG products from the creation to implementation stages, coordinating with Engineering, Marketing, and other teams to ensure successful execution
    • Manage, document, and engage with necessary JPM and OI stakeholders across functions to support OI Cause scoring throughout the product life-cycle
    • As needed, support content generation around our differentiated ESG approach and relevant sustainability themes/trends for educational and marketing purposes, particularly as they pertain to Fixed Income 
    • Alongside team members, serve as subject matter expert on OpenInvest data sources and methodology across all ESG products

Who You Are:

    • 2-4 years of experience in Sovereign policy research, Fixed Income investment management, and/or Credit analysis
    • 1-2 years of experience in ESG, Sustainability, or SRI-related investing
    • Critical thinker with a quantitative, inquiry-driven approach to solving problems
    • Experience presenting complex ESG data and solutions to clients and non-experts in compelling and relatable terms
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent project management and organizational skills
    • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility to colleagues and clients
    • High degree of comfort with both approaching new challenges independently and close collaboration with colleagues as the situation requires

Nice to Haves:

    • Experience assessing Sovereign bond alignment with ESG/sustainability considerations 
    • Experience designing/maintaining ESG assessment models and frameworks
    • Research specialization in an area applicable to Sustainable Investing
    • Experience in ESG-focused education or communication efforts
    • Experience with SQL and/or Python
