Senior Data Analyst

OpenResearch is conducting the most comprehensive unconditional cash transfer RCT in the United States. We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our team and play an integral role in driving data analysis across a number of research topics (including employment, expenditures, health, housing, time use, etc.)

Responsibilities:

    • Develop, enhance, and maintain STATA and R analytic datasets
    • Utilize statistical analysis to identify trends and extract meaningful insights
    • Create informative and visually compelling reports, tables, and graphics related to data analysis and to present data insights 
    • Develop processes to clean and consolidate datasets
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to investigate specific outcomes or hypotheses
    • Ensure all data-related activities adhere to relevant data security and protection standards

Qualifications:

    • Masters’ degree or higher in Statistics, Public Health, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience
    • Programming and data analysis skills in both R and STATA statistical programming languages
    • Strong fluency in R is essential 
    • Experience with analytical approaches, statistical methodology, and statistical analysis and modeling
    • Demonstrated proficiency in data management including data cleaning, data storage and archiving, data analysis, data visualization, and data interpretation
    • Experience aggregating and manipulating complex data from multiple sources
    • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices, methods, and strategies to ensure use of high-quality data to inform complex issues 
    • Ability to work both independently, in a self-directed manner, and as a team member
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and compelling written materials geared towards technical and non-technical audiences
    • Strong investigation skills
    • Understanding of experimental design and causal inference
    • Previous research experience and experience working on RCTs is a plus; interest in domestic economic and social policy issues also a plus
    • Proven ability to consistently manage and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and relationships; willingness to learn and adapt to changes
