The Head of Holding Company Sales will be responsible for managing and growing relationships with major advertising holding companies in the US. This strategic leadership role will focus on strengthening partnerships, driving revenue, and establishing long-term commercial agreements with key stakeholders across either Publicis, Omnicom or IPG. This individual will work closely with internal sales teams, guide go-to-market strategies, and ensure the company maximizes opportunities from these partnerships.

The ideal candidate will have established senior-level relationships within the advertising industry, particularly with holding companies, and possess strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities to deliver joint business plans and manage complex commercial deals. This position will also require excellent leadership and mentorship skills, guiding account executives and sales teams to deliver on revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Own and manage relationships with key advertising holding companies, building trust and becoming their primary point of contact.
    • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for partnership growth, identifying opportunities for revenue expansion.
    • Build and manage joint business plans (JBPs) that align mutual goals between the company and the holding companies.
    • Conduct stakeholder mapping within the holding companies, ensuring all key decision-makers and influencers are engaged.
    • Open doors to C-suite and senior executive relationships, securing sponsorship at the highest levels of holding companies.
    • Collaborate closely with the internal sales, product, and marketing teams to align strategies and identify opportunities for cross-functional collaboration.
    • Mentor and guide the sales team on best practices for growing commercial relationships with holding companies.
    • Track and report on performance metrics related to holding company partnerships, ensuring revenue targets and KPIs are met or exceeded.
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and other networking opportunities to enhance visibility and further build relationships.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, challenges, and competitive activity, adapting strategies to maintain the company’s competitive advantage.

Required Skills & Experience:

    • Experience: Minimum 10+ years of experience in advertising sales, with a significant portion of that time spent managing large enterprise accounts or holding companies. Previous experience in an AdTech, MarTech, or digital media environment is highly preferred.
    • Relationships: A proven track record of building and maintaining senior-level relationships within major holding companies - specifically Omnicom, Publicis, and IPG.
    • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management experience, with the ability to coach and develop sales teams.
    • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think long-term and develop sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships.
    • Stakeholder Mapping: Experience in identifying and engaging key stakeholders across complex organizational structures.
    • Business Acumen: A deep understanding of the advertising and digital media ecosystem, with a focus on programmatic, data-driven, and tech-enabled advertising solutions.
    • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to and influence C-level executives.
    • Negotiation: Proven experience in negotiating complex deals and commercial agreements, with a focus on win-win outcomes.
    • Results-Oriented: Track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets, with strong project management and organizational skills.
    • Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems and make strategic decisions under pressure.
$204,000 - $240,000 a year

OpenX is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For applicants in New York, New Jersey, California, and Colorado, the base salary range is $204,000- $240,000 per year + bonus + equity + benefits. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.  The salary range may differ in other states.
