The Global Payroll Manager will have a prominent role in this fast-paced company, including discovery and development of policies and best practices, and ensuring accuracy with current payroll processes. This role will lead opportunities to upgrade internal controls and efficient processes with a focus on accuracy and quality of employee service.

The Global Payroll Manager is responsible for processing multi-state domestic and international payroll. The position will report to the Sr Director of People Operations and will partner with the Finance Department and Legal Departments to ensure accurate end-to-end leadership and processing of payroll. The Global Payroll Manager will also manage relationships with external vendors on system implementations, interfaces, upgrades and enhancements.

Responsibilities

    • Manage the semi-monthly and monthly payroll function for 200+ U.S. employees and collaborate with international payroll partners in Poland, UK, Japan, Australia and Singapore. 
    • Collaborate with People Partners, Recruiting and Benefits Managers to ensure payroll accurately reflects updates within the cycle.
    • Responsible for timely and accurate payroll processing, processing time records, maintaining payroll control records, and calculating compensation.
    • Provide payroll and compensation reporting to support monthly close, year-end audits, quarterly tax filings, financial KPI’s and ad hoc management analysis.
    • Support the People and Finance teams with audit selections- payslips, reports, employee records, etc.
    • Review and lead current payroll processes to align with best practices. Seek opportunities to upgrade internal controls and create more efficient process flows, with attention to the accuracy and quality of employee service.
    • Ensure payroll and tax compliance standards are applied for federal and state regulatory requirements and work with international vendors to ensure the same. 
    • Assist with registering new state locations/accounts.
    • Maintain accurate and complete employee records and payroll documentation to support regulatory, legal and audit compliance.
    • Lead system upgrades and enhancements to improve interface between HRIS, ERP and third-party payroll systems.
    • Support the 401k administrative function, working with the benefits manager on annual 401k audit fieldwork.
    • Research complex payroll issues, drawing on expertise from online research tools, the legal and tax departments and external service providers. 
    • Manage employee questions and follow-up emails, maintain the payroll inbox, and provide employee learning opportunities pertaining to payroll and tax changes.
    • Facilitate ADP WorkForce Now training with employees, interns, and HR team- Time entry, withholding election updates, retrieving payroll documents. 

Requirements

    • Must have minimum of 5+ years of payroll experience and relevant management experience
    • Must have experience working with a payroll size of 300+ employees, including multi-state and international
    • Strong understanding of best practices and procedures for the payroll function
    • Ability to apply knowledge of federal, state and international regulations
    • Must be team-oriented with a positive attitude
    • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now required
    • Highly proficient technical skills (Microsoft Outlook - Excel) requiredFamiliarity with Google Suite (Mail, Calendar, Docs, etc.)
    • Bachelor's degree with a major or emphasis in accounting or related field preferred
    • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred
$85,000 - $100,000 a year

OpenX is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For applicants in New York, New Jersey, California, and Colorado, the base salary range is $85,000 - $100,000 per year + bonus + equity + benefits.  A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.  The salary range may differ in other states.
