This scholarship is sponsored by Optiv's Black Employee Network (BEN), an employee-driven initiative that is a part of Optiv's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program. This group reflects our ongoing commitment to embrace diverse perspectives and inclusive conversations. BEN creates a safe place for Black employees to create connections, grow personally and professionally, and cultivate opportunities in the cybersecurity field
 
It is our hope that this scholarship will help Black/African American students pursue their dream of higher education and a career in the cybersecurity field. 

In order to apply for this scholarship, the candidate must:

    • Be a graduating high school senior.
    • Be able to verify acceptance into an eligible degree program (including but not limited to computer science, electrical engineering, math, etc.).
    • Have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
    • Be planning a career in cybersecurity/information security.
    • Complete the scholarship application and include a one-page essay and two letters of reference.
    • Identify as Black and/or African American (African, African American, Caribbean, for example) and be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. national, or permanent resident.
