As a Purchasing/Procurement Specialist at Orca Bio (15-20 hours/week, open-ended contract position), you will play a crucial role in managing vendors, generating purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and overseeing the material receipt process. Your responsibilities will contribute directly to the efficient operation of our cell therapy initiatives.
 
Responsibilities:
 Vendor Management:
 - Identify, assess, and manage relationships with suppliers of cell therapy-related materials and services.
- Communicate effectively with vendors to negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
 
Purchase Order Generation:
- Partner with Accounting team to assist in generation of accurate and timely purchase orders based on procurement needs and specifications.
- Ensure purchase orders are processed efficiently and comply with internal policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to confirm order details and resolve discrepancies if any.
 
Delivery Tracking:
- Track and monitor the status of incoming deliveries to ensure on-time receipt of materials.
- Coordinate with logistics and receiving teams to facilitate smooth delivery processes.
Address any delivery delays or issues and communicate updates to relevant parties.
 
Material Receipt Process:
- Oversee the material receipt process, including inspection, verification, and documentation.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Inventory Management teams to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of received materials and update inventory systems accordingly.
 
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with a focus on vendor management and purchase order processing.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier negotiations, and logistics coordination.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
The anticipated pay rate for this contract position is $25-35/hour, depending on experience and location.
