We are seeking a dynamic Quality Engineer who is passionate about building and fine tuning process, product quality and the systems that surround them. In this role, he/she will own the development and implementation of the quality systems for Otto's in-house developed products. This person must be a problem-solver at the core, have a strong quality mindset, and possess the personal drive and stamina for relentless, continual improvement.


    • Managing quality activities for bring up of manufacturing sites; working with onsite engineering and production teams
    • Develop the Product Quality Plan and drive key quality related milestones
    • Lead executive reviews in San Francisco & Pittsburgh 
    • Working closely with contract manufacturing partners to understand quality related factory issues and issues related to material
    • Implement systems and processes to quickly identify root cause and corrective actions 
    • Work with commodity managers and supplier quality engineers to ensure component quality & reliability 
    • Aggregating and interpreting data from multiple sources to drive decisions 
    • Identification and prioritization of issues and improvement activities 
    • Managing cross-functionally with many different teams to resolve quality escalations 
    • Communicate quality updates to executives and the larger teams This position can require up to 20%+ international travel, with some trips lasting up to two weeks in duration


    • BS in Engineer (EE, ME, IE), and MS or PhD preferred
    • Experience in product quality management and systems; and/or operations
    • Six sigma training and application
    • Application of FMEA
    • Project and/or product management with key accomplishments
    • Specific knowledge in computer engineering and key technologies used in mobile handheld products
    • Experience or knowledge in test engineering, reliability engineering and supplier quality engineering
