We are looking for a highly motivated, world-class Community/Social Media Manager with deep knowledge of the trucking industry, social media, building and maintaining communities, a strong track record in creating innovative campaigns, and a great understanding of what a vibrant community (specifically Trucking) brings to a brand. This person will be accountable for managing the Otto/Uber Freight presence across Facebook, Twitter, and all other social channels with a focus on listening to, engaging with, and growing our audience across key platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage day-to-day reactive and proactive communications on all key social media channels (FB, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram etc)
    • Create, articulate, and execute a vision and strategy to rapidly increase the following and engagement of the Uber Freight trucker community, including outreach with Uber Freight updates and planning local trucker events
    • Identify strategic opportunities to engage target audiences — where are relevant discussions taking place? Who are influencers in the trucking community that the brand can engage with?
    • Create and maintain policies and best practices for all social media channels
    • Develop and manage a social editorial calendar for short and longterm efforts, ensuring proactive publication of content appropriate for channels that supports marketing objectives
    • Act as “editor-in-chief” of the Otto blog by identifying story opportunities, writing them and/or sourcing writers, and serve as editor for all posts on the blog
    • Coordinate and push social activity around launches and announcements
    • Monitor and analyze conversations across key social media channels and understand implications for Otto/ Uber Freight

REQUIREMENTS;

    • Passion for trucking and the Otto/Uber mission
    • 3+ years of professional experience in Communications, PR, or Social Media
    • Expertise and enthusiasm for social media and community building online, including in-depth knowledge of social media platforms, market trends, best practices, content development and metrics, and tools of the trade
    • Possesses excellent copywriting skills, a keen visual sense, eye for detail, quick wit and an ability to work under tight deadlines
    • Strong business acumen, analytical ability and outstanding communications skills
    • Active profiles on Twitter, Facebook, and other platforms
    • Comfort with a fast-paced, always-on, start-up environment
    • Preference for trucking, or similar audience experience
