We’re looking for a Social Media Video Editor who’s passionate about storytelling, trends, and creating eye-catching content. This person is an expert at creating content that resonates with our audience and drives engagement across social platforms. From fun TikToks to dynamic Instagram Reels, this person is passionate about making videos that are as meaningful as they are shareable. If you're a creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of what makes social media videos pop — we’d love to hear from you!

We have a hybrid working culture and are looking for this person to be on site 2-3 times a week at our brand new Our Place headquarters in West Los Angeles. The role would start as part time with 20-25 hours a week and then would likely increase to a full time position with more projects scheduled in the new year!

What you’d do at Our Place

    • Edit Delicious Video Content: Create and edit short-form cooking videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms. Showcase mouthwatering recipes, cooking tips, and food hacks in videos that capture our brand’s spirit and resonate with our audience.
    • Capture the Magic of Cooking: From sizzling pans to the final plated dish, you'll bring food to life on screen with dynamic editing and storytelling. You’ll experiment with time-lapse, slow motion, close-ups, and vibrant visuals to make food look irresistible.
    • Collaborate with Chefs and Content Creators: Work closely with our chefs, food stylists, and social media team to develop video concepts, from recipe demonstrations to behind-the-scenes kitchen moments. Bring creativity and fresh ideas to the table (literally!) as you help tell the stories behind the dishes.
    • Tailor Content for Social Media Platforms: Ensure videos are optimized for different formats (e.g., vertical for TikTok and Reels, horizontal for YouTube). Stay on top of food trends and platform updates, ensuring every video is perfectly suited for maximum engagement.
    • Manage Post-Production and Quality Control: Edit raw footage, add music, sound effects, and voiceovers where needed, and handle color correction and final touches to make the video visually and audibly appealing. You’ll ensure the final product is as polished as the dishes we showcase.
    • Analyze Engagement and Performance: Track the success of each video to understand what food content resonates most with our audience. Use insights to tweak your approach and keep videos fresh and exciting.

You know how to tell a story through visuals, from fast-paced cooking tutorials to slow, satisfying cooking moments. You love experimenting with different filming techniques to make food look as good as it tastes.
    • A Social Media Savvy Creator: You keep up with the latest trends in food content on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, and you know what works. You understand the nuances of different platforms and how to adapt videos for maximum impact. Bonus points if you’ve already created viral food videos yourself!
    • A Detail-Oriented Editor: You know that every second counts in social media videos, and you’re obsessed with ensuring every transition, effect, and cut enhances the viewer experience. You’re comfortable working with fast turnarounds and always deliver top-quality videos.
    • A Team Player with a Love for Collaboration: You enjoy working closely with other creatives, chefs, and food influencers to brainstorm new content ideas. You're flexible, open to feedback, and ready to contribute to a fun, fast-paced team environment.
