Position overview :

As the Business Development Manager for New Markets at Outsight, you will be the strategic force driving our expansion beyond the airport sector. Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll be a core member of a new, dedicated three-person team responsible for identifying, qualifying, and kickstarting business in new vertical markets. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our company by uncovering new applications for our people and vehicle flow monitoring software.

What will be your responsibilities ?

To identify, qualify, validate, and kickstart new markets for Outsight's software solutions, paving the way for the core sales team to scale the business in these new verticals.

Market Exploration & Qualification: You will be responsible for finding, prospecting, and analyzing new vertical markets, customers, and potential partners. You'll evaluate a market's size, perceived value, product-market fit, profitability, and distribution friction to determine its viability.

Relationship Building: You will interact with prospects, customers, and industry thought leaders and hubs (e.g., associations, shows) to identify the best market fit for our solutions and initiate business agreements. Your role involves delivering a first Proof of Concept (PoC) to a relevant customer to validate assumptions and gather field feedback from subject matter experts.

Strategic Alignment: You will ensure that all new market activities leverage our existing airport experience and are consistent with our current product capabilities and roadmap. The goal is to sell the same platform to new customers, with a focus on business development rather than creating new product line features.

Collaboration: You will work closely with the Product Manager and Field Application Engineer on your team to manage the delivery of PoCs and projects. You will also maintain a close, two-way relationship with the core Sales team in different geographies, sharing information and leveraging airport clients for PoC opportunities when relevant.

Reporting: You will provide regular reports and recommendations to the executive committee (comex), seeking validation and prioritization for new market opportunities.

Teams to Collaborate With :

You'll be part of a three-person team and will work closely with the Product Manager and Field Application Engineer.

Main Interfaces :

Managing Director: You will report directly to the Managing Director, as an activity parallel to Sales.

Sales Team: The core sales team will redirect any leads not directly related to Airports and will take over a market once it successfully completes the "Jumpstart" phase.

Product Team: You will work with the Product team to ensure alignment with the current roadmap and platform capabilities.

Customer Engineering Team: The team will provide technical expertise and alignment with the rest of activities.

Marketing Team: Marketing may contribute to your activities with specific campaigns and tools.

What are the requirements for the role?

Proven experience in a business development role of highly technical solutions, with a focus on exploring and initiating business in new markets

Strong strategic and analytical skills to assess market potential and viability.

Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities to interact with a wide range of industry professionals in English and French, from thought leaders to potential customers.

A proactive, autonomous, and results-oriented mindset.

Experience in the B2B software or technology sector is highly desirable.
