As a Procurement & Commercial Manager in the SSE Pacifico Business, you will be expected to manage procurement and pre/post-contract commercial requirements relevant to the Renewables business area. You will demonstrate value leadership, customer service, and innovation to support the vision of becoming a world-class provider of Procurement and Commercial services and embed a consistent approach to reduce the total cost of ownership by achieving targets set in this regard.

Profiles we are looking for:
・Experience as a procurement manager in an engineering company.
・Experience in Supply Agreement, After Services (long-term services agreement), Warranty, Transportation, Customs, etc.
・Experience as a contracting manager in a construction-related company.
・Experience as a contracting manager in an engineering company handling construction contracts and knowledge of construction plans and construction laws

JAPANESE FLUENCY IS A MUST (Native Level)

Key Accountabilities

    • Ensuring the successful commercial delivery of contracts and projects (both pre and post execution) to achieve the strategic goals of the business.
    • Taking responsibility for developing robust pricing assumptions and delivering on commercially led solutions, to provide enhanced business case opportunities for the Renewables Business.
    • Being responsible for developing strong commercial and contracting strategies, then executing end to end procurement activities to meet the diverse needs of our Renewables business, whilst complying with Procurement and Commercial policies and procedures.
    • Developing and nurturing key supplier relationships and engaging regularly with wider P&C Teams to ensure a strategic approach is investigated and all group leverage maximised.
    • Potentially leading and motivating a multi-disciplinary team to design and deliver commercially successful bids, strategies and plans.

Skills and Experiences

    • (MRICS) Quantity Surveying Degree educated or have an equivalent direct entry to a recognised appropriate professional body is a plus
    • Understanding of the markets, support contracts, regions, commodities and services the Renewables Business requires
    • Previous experience in a similar role where you were responsible for procuring, negotiating and managing contracts and associated risks, as well as managing suppliers and sub-contractors.
    • Previous experience in an operational multifaceted business with an understanding of supply chain concepts and how to improve them.
    • Detailed understanding of commercial value drivers within large and complex business cases.
    • Demonstrable stakeholder engagement and managements skills are essential, as is the ability to influence, lead and resolve disputes and problem solve.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, strong commercial acumen, and a continuous improvement mind set.
