The Opportunity
We are seeking a Calf-Rearer to assist our team at our purpose-built calf rearing facility – Exeter for the Spring.
You will be required to help on a casual basis during the calving season, starting mid-July until early December. This position can be flexible hours, and rostered days on.
There is no accommodation onsite so reliable transport is required.
Your day-to-day activities may consist of, feeding calves, general hygiene, picking up calves, administering animal health treatments and processing calves through the cattle yards.
Exeter is at the forefront of Pāmu’s non replacement calf strategy reducing the number of surplus calves on our pastoral farms. This also aligns with our dairy beef strategy as we will be supplying our livestock farms.
The Farm
Located only 15 minutes from central Taupo, Exeter Calf Rearing aims to rear 2800 calves this spring. Exeter is 84 effective ha with brand new infrastructure. Our purpose-built shed can hold up to 720 calves at a time. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to make large scale calf rearing enjoyable and efficient for staff.
About You
This role can be physically demanding so stamina and fitness are essential in this role. You must be able to lift 20kg.

· The ability to work unsupervised
· No prior experience needed
