The Opportunity
If you’re looking to strengthen your animal management skills and learn more about running your own block, this Beef Finishing Specialist role is for you.

You’ll learn or develop your pasture and animal management skills within a supportive team, supported by our Farm Operations Manager who will allow you to run the block as if it’s your own.  As our Bull Beef Finishing Specialist, you’ll monitor live weight production and proactively manage pastures and farm maintenance.   This role gives you the opportunity to get comfortable with Pāmu systems and processes with scope to learn and run your own Farmax file.

We’re happy to upskill a candidate who’s got a passion for farming, a strong work ethic, and second to none health & safety and animal management skills.  You’ll be supported by a positive team, and you’ll also have access to our specialist farm consultant.

We will want you to be meticulous with your record keeping; and tech friendly to be happy in this role and maximise the performance of the farm system. If you’re tech friendly, we’ll happily upskill you on the systems.

The Farm
Rangitaiki is New Zealand’s third largest farm, and Pāmu’s second largest farm, with 8317 ha supporting 85,000 stock units – running a mixture of sheep, beef & deer. At 2552 ha, the bull system is a well-established unit within the station portfolio, finishing bulls and steers.  The opportunity to run your own 260 ha block within the Station enables you to farm in a smaller scale, whilst being exposed to the opportunities enabled on a station of scale.

About You
We’d love to hear from you if you have excellent communication skills, are punctual and have a positive, can-do attitude that will contribute to our strong team culture.  You’ll have an interest in technical and intensive farming practises with a focus on high production as well as strong pasture and animal husbandry skills. Along with good attention to detail, you’ll work with only the highest level of health and safety standards.

Benefits
We offer a competitive salary package with additional benefits as well as ongoing training and personal developments to help you reach your career goals. This job comes with a two-bedroom cottage with Internet & Power provided.
