Fencer General (+ Tractor work) - Reefton

West Coast - Reefton, New Zealand /
Livestock Operations – Livestock /
Permanent - On Farm
If you’re happiest when you’re working outside on the farm, this could be the perfect role for you.  Consisting mainly of working on the tractor and then helping out with general farm tasks and stock on occasion, this Fencer General role is located on a large, diverse farm property about 10 minutes from Reefton.

This role will suit someone who is comfortable working outdoors in the lovely liquid sunshine that the West Coast is known for.  Joining this small, independent and close-knit team, you’ll spend the majority of your time in the tractor and will help out with general tasks on the farm when necessary.  This will include stock work at certain times of the year.

If working in the outdoors is the change you’ve been looking for but you don’t have a background in agriculture, get in touch with us anyway.  We are looking for a positive, self-motivated person who wants to learn, work and grow along with the rest of the farm.  We can teach the technical skills – we can’t teach attitude.  If your work ethic is strong and you’re ready to work while you learn, be sure to apply.

Mawheraiti is a vast 1450 ha farm with approximately 250 breeding cows and calves, 3,000 breeding hinds plus fawns and stags totalling 4,000.  We finish 2,500-3000 lambs a year as well.  It’s a quiet setting in a valley located approximately 10 minutes’ drive from Reefton and an hour’s drive from Greymouth.  You’ll be joining a team of three (you’ll be the fourth).  The farm runs well with the team working well together and most roles operate independently from each other.

This role comes with a competitive pay package that includes salary and health insurance (plus more) and accommodation is also provided.  Pāmu has a strong commitment to Health & Safety and all of our employees are expected to operate with the highest levels of attention to health and safety in all aspects.  We provide all of your PPE and also regularly maintain our farm vehicles to ensure that you’re working in a safe environment.

Mawheraiti is in a beautiful location and close enough for you to take advantage of all the amazing outdoor activities that the West Coast has to offer.
