Come and learn about life on a large scale dairy farm! As a Dairy Farm Assistant at Pinta Dairy Unit, you’ll work across a diverse and complex farm. With a large, positive and enthusiastic team already in place, you’ll be well supported and will benefit by learning from others – and you’ll have the opportunity to share your knowledge as well.
Pinta Dairy Unit is Pāmu’s largest dairy complex, milking 2100 dairy cows on 850 ha through our 80 bale rotary dairy shed. The Farm Manager has a structured approach to helping farm staff reach their training and development goals which will benefit experienced and non-experienced DAs alike. They’re open to considering candidates with experience and candidates who are looking to start their career in dairy.
You’ll have great work-life balance as the team works to a 6/2 and 6/3 roster (104 rostered off days per year).
This farm has a manager has an open, communicative style – taking care to explain the “why” around decisions so that the team has good context. The team is valued and is enthusiastic and positive team who support each other in their work as well as with upskilling. You’ll fit right in with your strong work ethic and positive outlook.
Two wheel motorbike experience would be helpful, but we’re happy to provide some training to the right candidate.
Pāmu maintains all of its farm equipment and provides safety and wet weather gear to all of their permanent staff. We also provide ongoing training, a competitive remuneration package (including salary, insurance, an incentive plan and more) along with a tidy two bedroom unit in the beautiful Central Plateau.
