The Opportunity
We have a Production Manager (2IC) role available at Renown Dairy Unit in Reporoa. This farm is unique as we milk OAD for the entire season. This is a true leadership role where you’ll bring your honest approach, strong work ethic, friendly nature and farm operations expertise to this high performing property. 
 
You’ll manage the team on a daily basis, planning work, pasture management, farm maintenance and coaching/mentoring the team as required.  As a working team lead, you’ll confidently delegate work and carry on your own work independently and keep the farm running effectively and efficiently.
 
The Farm
Renown Dairy Unit is located between Taupō and Rotorua. 1450 cows are milked once a day through a 60-bail rotary shed that has a vast array of technology to help monitor & measure overall performance. The farm is set on 640 ha of varying terrain
 
The farm team is made up of a team of 7 (including the Farm Manager) and we all lead by example.  We show empathy towards animals and each other.  We work as a team, look out for each other, and ensure the safety of our animals and our staff. 
About You 
You’ll be good at planning and will have a strong understanding of dairy operations.  With the support of the Farm Manager, you’ll help to identify areas where process improvements can be made, and you’ll also receive coaching and development so that you’re able to run the farm when the manager is on leave. 
 
You will bring:
·         Exposure to large herds & teams
·         Four years’ dairy farming experience, some of which would need to of been in a similar role of a 2ic (including responsibility for pasture management, staff planning)
·         AgIto L4 or the equivalent (preferred)
·         Effective communication skills
·         Strong internal motivation and ability to positively motivate others
·         Ability operate a range of farm vehicles
·         First class attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare
·         Restricted or full driver’s licence
