Due to an internal promotion, this unique opportunity is available to work on a large-scale East Coast sheep and beef station as part of a close-knit team.
We are looking for a positive, keen and hardworking individual to come and work on Parikānapa Station as a Shepherd General. This role will take on day-to-day responsibilities of stock and general work.
Horses are used frequently at certain times of the year on the station so it’s critical you’re comfortable with regular horse work or can commit to learning.
Recently featured on Country Calendar, Parikānapa Station is a 2,650 ha effective hill country station located in the Waerenga-o-kuri district, 40 minutes from Gisborne. This 25,000 su breeding/finishing property runs 9,000 lambing ewes and 1000 calving cows.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual, keen to learn and accept responsibility and advance within a progressive organisation.
You will also have:
· Ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised
· Effective communication skills, common sense and great time management
· A team of 6 to 8 well broken in dogs
· First class attitude to Health and Safety
· Current NZ driver’s licence
We’d look to have you start around mid-January – February 2024.
