The Opportunity
You will be responsible for the management of all animals and will manage the day-to-day operations of the farm whilst working closely with the Business Manager and Operations Manager to deliver quality results.
You will be responsible for:
· Managing multiple dairy stock classes
· Leading, coaching and mentoring your team
· Planning and organising logistics and maintaining accurate records
· Solving problems and managing risks as they arise
The Farm
West Coast Dairy Support is a 560ha farm split up in two stunning blocks located 10 minutes South of Westport at Cape Foulwind. This farm is a part of our Buller Dairy Complex of which it supports.
Stock on farm consists of approximately 757 R1 calves, 740 R2 heifers, 212 bulls, 976 winter grazing.
About You
You will have exceptional knowledge and experience in growing young stock, best practice animal health standards, feed budgeting skills with collaborative leadership skills. You also can use farm management technology systems and record keeping equipment.
You will be working closely with your team and the Farm Manager team, so you will have a high level of communication and planning skills. Health and Safety is a priority for us, so you must have a positive attitude towards Health and Safety.
