The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity for a Shepherd to work on a large-scale sheep and beef breeding/finishing farm with plenty of scope to self-manage your day.
In this team, you’ll have the guidance of a supportive Farm Manager and Stock Manager to help you with your career development goals and provide you with a variety of responsibilities to build your skills and knowledge.
You will take on day-to-day responsibilities of stock and general work, as well as supporting other team members to get the work done.
Your experience in grazing management and proven ability to get results in pasture-based systems will be valuable.

The Farm
Kapiro Station is home to Pamu’s Rangitane angus herd along with a fully recorded sheep flock.
Located 10 minutes from Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands, Kapiro is a 16,000su breeding and finishing and Angus bull breeding property with a mixture of easy and rolling hill country over 1,800ha.
About You
You will be a passionate, experienced Shepherd with a can-do attitude, you’ll have an interest in intensive farming practises with a focus on high production, exceptional work ethic and pride looking to take the next step in your career.
You will have:
- Grazing management experience
- Commitment towards your own safety and the safety of your team
- Passion for farming
- Initiative, flexibility and a willing attitude
- Tractor experience would be an advantage
- A full and current NZ driver’s licence
Ideally you will have two or three working dogs.
