We’ve got an opportunity for a Dairy Assistant at a nice sized farm in Taupo milking 600 cows.
The Opportunity
As a Dairy Farm Assistant, you will be bringing the cows in for milking, doing the milking, shifting both the cows and the young stock plus other duties as required.  You will work in a roster system with 104 days off per year.

The four members of this team respect each other, work well together, do their jobs thoroughly, and they’re easy going.  With the calibre of the team and the size of the farm, it doesn’t require the excessive hours of some operations.

This is a fixed-term opportunity from July to mid-January to help cover over our busy, peak season with a roster of 6/2 for half the year then 6/3 for the rest.

The Farm
Halls Dairy Unit is conveniently located about 20 minutes’ drive from Taupo.  Milking 600 cows on 267 hectares and running a 54-bail rotary, you’ll usually be home by 5:30pm each day.  The house is close enough to the farm to nip home during your breakfast and lunch breaks to have a good meal before you get back to work.

You will have a positive attitude and good foundational dairy farm experience or willingness to learn looking to develop and grow your dairy career.
·         Must be experienced at riding a manual motorcycle (two-wheeler)
·         Positive, proactive attitude
