Farm Manager - Waipuna Farm
Southland - Te Anau
Livestock Operations – Livestock
Permanent - On Farm
· Are you interested in running a productive bull beef and sheep farming system?
· Can you take over this simple all-grass farm system and execute plans to make it hum?
· Farm Manager – Waipuna Farm (Mossburn)
We’ve recently migrated Waipuna Farm to a bull beef operation and now most of the set-up work has been done. The Farm Manager has accepted an internal promotion so we’re looking for someone to come in and complete the journey to make this a highly productive farm.
This new subdivision has run as a separate farm enterprise for the last two years. We’ve improved the infrastructure and changed the system, which has taken it from low to high animal productivity. There’s still a lot of potential and upside in terms of productivity and profitability – are you the farm manager who can take us there?
You’ll have solid animal management experience and an eye for detail for animal performance as well as process improvement skills. You’ll execute the plans for the farm and add value by bringing your own expertise and perspective. You’ll have the support of a knowledgeable Regional Business Manager with hands on experience in bull beef systems as you settle in to the job and work to the plan. It’s all sitting there, ready to go – turn this into reality! This is a rare chance to get in, execute, and see the place transform.
· Strong, logical decision-making skills
· Positive attitude and drive
· Competence in using recording software and technology (Farmax, FarmIQ would be a plus)
· Committed to high standards of Health and Safety, Animal welfare and environmental management
· Passion for farming and an ability to bring others along on your vision
· Current and full NZ drivers licence
