The Opportunity
An exciting and unique opportunity has come about for a Shepherd General to join our fun and hardworking team at Omamari.
The position comes with a three bedroom home, located in a beautiful setting just 25 minutes from Kai Iwi Lakes and Ripiro Beach. With Dargaville only 20 minutes away, primary and secondary schooling are located nearby with the school bus at the gate.  
 
Omamari is 1800 Ha effective hill country farm, specialising in Beef Production. We currently breed 800 Angus breeding cows and this summer will finish 1500 Friesian Bulls. In 2 years this will increase to 3000 Cattle being finished annually.
 
This opportunity is for someone to help a stock manager on a 440ha Techno block that finishes 900 bulls a year.
 
The ideal candidate will be someone who has great communication skills, is proactive and forward thinking and most importantly a team player.
 
You will bring:
 
·         Strong attention to detail
·         Ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised
·         Commitment to ongoing learning especially with grazing management
·         Commitment to high standards of quality and safety
·         Current full NZ driver’s license
·         One capable dog
