The Opportunity
Are you a Dairy Farm Assistant who has a passion for farming, really good stock sense, and motivation to learn organics?
Mayflower Dairy Unit is an organic dairy farm, it's one of 19 farms in the Pastoral Dairy Complex on the Central Plateau. 
 
Day to day you’ll bring the cows in and do the milking, shift cows and young stock, perform general farm maintenance activities, etc.  You’ll have use of the well-maintained farm equipment to ensure you can do your effectively.
 
You’ll have access to learning and development plus support for ITO courses and hands-on training from the 2IC and Farm Manager.  Pāmu also provides all PPE and wet weather gear for our staff.  You will work as part of a roster system.
 
About You
We are looking for a motivated, team player who will bring a positive attitude to our teamwork environment.
 
You will also have:
·         Excellent work ethic
·         Effective communication skills and a good sense of humour
·         A willingness to learn and the ability to work unsupervised in a team environment
·         First class attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare
·         Restricted or full driver’s licence
 
Ideally, you’ll have experience in a tractor as well as a side by side and a two-wheeler motorcycle, but we’re happy to train the right candidate.
