Support the farm manager as their 2IC on this nice sized farm located in the Greymouth/Lake Brunner area on the West Coast.
 
The Opportunity
You will really get to know your land, your animals, and your team.  You’ll enjoy working with the animals, running toolbox meetings, and performing general repairs around the farm such as fencing, as well as coaching and support team members and supporting the Farm Manager.
 
The team works well together, do their jobs thoroughly, and they’re easy going.  With the calibre of the team and the size of the farm, it doesn’t require the excessive hours of some operations.
The Farm
Kotuku Dairy Unit is part of Pāmu’s Weka Complex, located 10 minutes from Lake Brunner. We milk 950 cows in a 60-bail rotary cow shed with ACRs. The farm is a humped and hollowed terrain of 550ha with 471ha effective.
 
About You
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and passionate about dairy farming who is wanting to grow their career and develop leadership skills.
 
You will also have:
·         Minimum 2 years dairy farming experience
·         First class attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare
·         Excellent knowledge and implementation of grazing and pasture management, feed budgeting and profit maximisation
·         Self-motivation and good problem solving ability
·         Effective time and communication skills
·         Current and full NZ drivers licence
