At Ruru Dairy Unit, we’ve got a Dairy Farm Assistant role available that could give you the growth opportunity, you’ll help with the day to day operations of our new team, helping with milking, the feeding out, farm maintenance, data recording, etc.  This property is well run and productive, with high standards for cleanliness and structure. 
We’ve got good processes and procedures in place that you’ll be comfortable working within which will be an excellent environment to pick up and hit the ground running. Representing the farm you’ll be brought up to speed to lead by example with your good animal health knowledge, robust planning and pasture management skills, feed budgeting, and your mentoring abilities. 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their farming career with a progressive organisation and a supportive, positive manager who will ensure that you have the right skills and training for your own development.  Ideally you’ll have a hunger to learn and develop a first class attitude to Health and Safety, animal welfare and environmental management. Ruru is a 441 effective ha block, milking 830 cows through a 60 bail rotary with ACR’s and MilkHub technology. Ruru is located 10 minutes from Lake Brunner, 40 minutes from a ski field, 30 minutes from Greymouth and two and a half hours from Christchurch.
