The Opportunity
Egmont Dairy (organic) Unit is looking for a Dairy Assistant to join our team, you will assist in all aspects of the day to day running of the farm, having the opportunity to learn and develop skills to further progress within the industry, there is not one part of the farming system that you will not contribute towards. This role could be your first step moving towards farm management.
The Farm
Located 15 minutes north of Levin and 25 minutes from Palmerston North, Egmont is a 196-ha property which will milk approximately 490 cows at peak through a 50-bail rotary with milk hub, electronic drafting, feed pad and recent effluent system development.
About You
You will bring:
· Dairy farming experience (1 season minimum)
· Eagerness to learn and share your learnings with others
· Interest in organic farming
· Effective communication skills
· First class attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare
· Self-motivation, initiative, and a passion for dairy farming
· Restricted or full driver’s licence
