If you’ve got excellent animal husbandry skills, an inclusive leadership style and strong attention to detail, we have just the Stock Manager role for you.

Located just 10 km north of Kerikeri, Kapiro Station is is a 2,000 effective ha farm in the beautiful Bay of Islands.  There’s a diverse mix of enterprises which includes Pāmu’s 550 cow Rangitane Angus Genetics Breeding programme along with 300 commercial cows growing out all progeny along with 3000 ewes and a small trading component. We also run Dairy support to Pāmu’s Takou Bay dairy unit growing out replacements and summer/winter cow grazing. As Stock Manager you will lead a team of three shepherds plus casuals and when required as well as two fencer/generals. You’ll have experience with pasture management, feed budgeting, etc.  You’ll work closely with a supportive farm manager who encourages career development and on-going training. You’ll lead your own team in the same positive, encouraging way and will be a natural trainer / mentor.  You’ll have the highest standards when it comes to animal husbandry and you will develop your staff to take the same care with our animals.

Being a genetics property, there are requirements for record keeping, so you’ll be comfortable entering data and working with modern farm technology (weigh facilities, Farmax, Farm IQ etc.).  If you are unfamiliar with or haven’t used Farmax or FarmIQ, we’re happy to train a positive, motivated candidate who’s willing to learn.  These technologies enable you to perform efficiently and accurately. We use a well maintained fleet of side by sides.  We have a strong commitment to Health & Safety at Pamu, providing all PPE to our staff.  As Stock Manager, you will lead by example and model adherence to health and safety best practices.
