Develop your dairying skills and work in the gorgeous Central Plateau in this Assistant Dairy Production Manager role.

The Opportunity
Mayflower Dairy Unit is a dairy farm that is fully organic production. We are one of the largest dairy complexes in New Zealand and are looking for an Assistant Dairy Production Manager to join our team on our organic farm. You’ll be able to do what you love in a supported environment.

Your day to day activities will involve bringing the cows in for milking, doing the milking, shifting both the cows and the young stock, etc. You would also support the Farm Manager and Production Manager in the day-to-day planning and running of the farm, so this role could be your first step moving towards farm management. You will work as part of a roster system.

About You
Excellent animal husbandry skills as well as a high standard of health and safety will be key to success in this role.

You will bring:
·       Dairy farming experience (2+ years preferred)
·       Eagerness to learn and share your learnings with others
·       Interest in organic farming
·       Effective communication skills
·       First class attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare
·       Self-motivation, initiative, and a passion for dairy farming
·       Restricted or full driver’s licence
