We have a Dairy Production Manager (2IC) role available in our Moutoa complex.
 
Tasman Dairy Organics milks 320 cows at peak through a 30 aside herringbone. The farm is located 10 minutes from Levin and 25 minutes from Palmerston North and is part of the Moutoa complex which is made up of seven neighbouring dairy farms. We use a 5/2 roster throughout the year.

As 2IC, you’ll work closely with the Farm Manager and will take on a degree of responsibility for feed allocation and animal health/record keeping. Having sound knowledge across all dairy operations is desired and having good knowledge and experience in pasture management will be vital.

As Tasman Dairy is an organic farm, having a passion for organic farming will be a bonus but it’s not essential. What is essential will be your positive attitude towards health and safety in all aspects of your day to day work.

If you have a minimum of 3 years’ dairy farming experience, a relevant Tertiary training/qualifications of NZQA Level 3 or greater, solid knowledge and implementation of grazing, pasture management, and feed budgeting a full driver’s licence and a good work ethic and a strong willingness to learn, we’d like to hear from you.
 
This role includes a 3 bedroom house with a single garage. It’s a convenient location offering a great variety of outdoor recreational activities nearby and the  primary/secondary school bus service is available nearby.
