The Opportunity
Your day-to-day activities may consist of feeding calves, picking up calves, administering animal health treatments and processing calves through the cattle yards.  You will support the team at Waimakariri Dairy through their Spring Calving season.
 
We have a robust health and safety regime at Pāmu, and have well maintained, up to date farm equipment that you’ll be able to use.
 
This is a drive in/drive out position which is fixed term from August till the end of October 2024.
 
The Farm
Waimakariri Dairy Unit is situated on Poyntz Road just outside Oxford, North Canterbury milking approximately 1000 cows through a 60-bail rotary with ACR’s, MilkHub and an in-shed feeding system.

About You
You will have a positive attitude and willingness to learn looking to develop and grow your dairy career. This is a drive in/drive out position, so reliable transport is a must.
 
You will also have:
·         An exceptional attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare
·         A can-do attitude and be willing to try most things.
·         Calf rearing experience (preferred).
·         Ability to lift 20kg
·         Be punctual, reliable and honest.
·         The ability to work unsupervised and a good eye for detail.
·         Effective communication skills.
