Join our team on Souters on the West Coast and play an important role on maintaining this fully developed farm.

 

Your day-to-day activities will involve bringing the cows in for milking, doing the milking, shifting both the cows and the young stock, etc. You would also support the Farm Manager and Production Manager in the day-to-day planning and running of the farm, so this role could be your first step moving towards farm management. You will work as part of a roster system.

 

Souters Dairy Farm is part of our Weka Complex on the West Coast and is an orderly farm with established processes and procedures. Located 10 minutes from Lake Brunner and 30 minutes from Greymouth, this is a 483-ha property milking 830 cows at peak through a 50-bail rotary with ACR’s and in-shed feeding system.

 

You will bring a positive attitude and ability to manage and respond to situations as they arise.

 

Along with your positive attitude, you will have:

·         2+ years’ experience in Dairy operations

·         Great animal husbandry skills

·         Good understanding of pasture management and feed planning skills

·         An exceptional attitude towards Health and Safety, and Animal Welfare

·         Restricted or full NZ driver’s license (essential)
