This is a unique opportunity to experience working on an iconic large scale East Coast sheep and beef station.
Panekiri Station is 9,000ha / 5,200ha effective hill country station running 50,000 su, bordered by Te Urewere National Park and located 40km northwest of Wairoa. The combination of the iconic hill country, proximity to Te Urewere, the large scale of the station and the strong focus on staff development make this role a truly unique opportunity.
Panekiri Station is part of Pāmu Farms of New Zealand which has a nationwide portfolio of farms. This enables Pāmu to offer continual development and promotion opportunities and exposure to industry leading farming practices. This vacancy has arisen due to an internal promotion.
In this role you will work closely with the Farm Manager and Stock Managers, in a team of 11 staff. You will be an integral part of achieving production targets and implementing pasture management plans. We are looking for someone who is open to new challenges and wants to progress their career in agriculture.
Panekiri Station has a strong focus on supporting staff to continue to build their agriculture skills and knowledge in a supportive environment with exposure to all aspects of farming.
You’llhave a shared responsibility for implementing stock rotations, monitoring and reporting on animal health, reporting farm health & safety risks and participating proactively to help achieve the overall farm targets and goals.
As well as being competent and self-motivated, we’re looking for the following:

·            Have a competent team of working dogs
·            Passion for dog work and mustering

·            The ability to work alone as and when needed
·            Good understanding of farming practices
