If you’re looking to strengthen your animal management skills and learn more about running your own block, this Beef Finishing Specialist role is one that you should consider.
You’ll learn or develop your pasture and animal management skills within a supportive team. As one of our Bull Beef Finishing Specialists, you’ll monitor live weight production and proactively manage pastures and farm maintenance. This role gives you the opportunity to get comfortable with Pāmu systems and processes, as you’ll start to learn and run your own Farmax file and record data into FarmIQ.
Due to our reporting requirements, you must be tech friendly to be happy in this role. If you’re tech friendly, we’ll upskill you on the systems.
Rangitāiki Station is New Zealand’s third largest farm, and Pāmu’s second largest farm, with 8,317 ha supporting 85,000 stock units in beef, sheep, deer and finishing. Rangitāiki Station has run an intensive bull beef system for four years, farming beef bulls and steers. Our farm is 8,317 effective hectares, of which the bull beef is made up of 2552 ha, and this role will see you managing your own 442 ha block of cells.
We’d love to hear from you if you have excellent communication skills, are punctual and have a positive, can-do attitude. You’ll have an interest in technical and intensive farming practices with a focus on high production as well as strong pasture and animal husbandry skills.
We’re happy to upskill a candidate who’s got a passion for farming, a strong work ethic, and second to none health & safety and animal management skills. You’ll be supported by a positive team, and you’ll also have access to our specialist farm consultant.
Along with good attention to detail, you’ll work with only the highest level of health and safety standards.
