Exciting opportunity to work on an Angus breeding property and use your attention to detail to record cattle performance.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a Shepherd to join our team on Rotomahana (Deep Creek Block). Close to Taupo, Rotomahana is a 900 ha (effective) property, with 9000 su, including 800 breeding ewes and is home to the Pamu Angus breeding programme which has fully recorded Angus cows and their progeny.

A typical day could include:
• Day-to-day management of stock
• Recording cattle performance and genetics
• Carrying out general farm maintenance tasks

The location also offers fantastic access to the local primary school two minutes down the road and secondary schooling located in Taupo and Reporoa fifteen minutes away.

About You
This role can evolve quickly, so if you have shepherding experience, initiative, tractor driving experience, the ability to fence, a strong work ethic and a couple of dogs, this is the role for you!

You will also have:
• Strong willingness to learn 
• Effective communication skills, common sense and great time management
• Ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised
• Commitment to high standards of quality and safety
• Current NZ driver’s license
• Ideally two to three working dogs
