The Opportunity
We are looking for a Head Calf Rearer and two Calf Rearers to work through Autumn calving at Endeavour. Your day-to-day activities may consist of feeding calves, picking up calves, administering animal health treatments and processing calves through the cattle yards.
 
We have a robust health and safety regime at Pāmu, and have well maintained, up to date farm equipment that you’ll be able to use.
 
This is a drive in/drive out position where the roster can be negotiated. Fixed term from now until June 2024. There may be an opportunity to join another farm in the region for spring calving as well.

The Farm
Endeavour is 800 hectares of pumice soils, with excellent facilities (60 bale rotary shed with meal feeders and milk hub).  We operate a 100% all-Autumn calving system calving 1900 cows in the autumn.
 
About You
You will have a positive attitude and willingness to learn looking to develop and grow your dairy career. This is a drive in/drive out position, so reliable transport is a must.
 
You will also have:
·         An exceptional attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare
·         Calf rearing experience preferred.
·         A good eye for detail and a willingness to learn
·         Ability to lift 20kg
·         Be punctual and reliable
·         The ability to work unsupervised
·         Effective communication skills
