Are you a motivated individual ready to take on your next challenge? This is your chance to join Tongariro Dairy Unit as the Dairy Production Manager! Milking 650 cows at peak through a new 50 bail rotary shed, this farm is located a close 10 minutes from Levin, and 25 minutes from Palmerston North.
 
This opportunity will allow the successful individual to work closely with the Farm Manager to plan and manage the day-to-day operations of the farm, therefore having good knowledge and experience in team leadership and pasture management is essential. You will need to be comfortable to undertake responsibility in the manager’s absence. The ideal candidate should also have a positive attitude towards health and safety and consider this aspect in daily actions!
 
Accommodation available. The primary/secondary school bus service is available nearby and the location offers access to a large variety of recreational activities.
 
You will bring:


·       Minimum 4 years’ dairy farming experience
·       First class attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare
·       Relevant Tertiary training/qualifications of NZQA Level 4 or greater to support your application
·       A good work ethic and a strong willingness to learn
·       Solid knowledge and implementation of grazing, pasture management, and feed budgeting
·       Effective time management and communication skills
·       Full driver’s licence
