We have an opportunity for a Farm Assistant to join our team on Bassets Dairy Unit, located 15km from Westport. This is a high performing 458 ha property, milking approximately 1080 cows through a modern 60 bail rotary with ACR’s and MilkHub. The successful candidate will perform day-to-day duties including milking, fencing and general stock work. Currently operating a 6 and 3 roster (6 and 2 over spring).
This is a great opportunity to progress your dairy farming career within a supportive team environment. The role comes with a 3-bedroom house. It is within close proximity to local primary schools and has easy access to a range of fantastic recreational activities. Local childcare centre have a rural pick up and drop off service available.

You will bring:
A Positive attitude and a minimum of 1 year experience in dairy farming
The ability to work unsupervised in a team environment
First class attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare
Effective communication skills
Some computer skills and a willingness to learn
Pride in your work and surrounding environment
Full or restricted driver’s license
