We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, empathetic and patient to help us rear 310 calves this season.
 
The Opportunity
We are seeking a fixed-term Calf Rearer to help our team at Mayfield during our busy calving season. This is a fixed term position from end of July through to mid-December 2023. This is a drive in/drive out opportunity.
 
You will assist with rearing all heifer replacements and bobby calves, while they are housed.  You will need to be flexible on work hours depending on seasonal requirements.
 
We aim to rear 310 calves on farm over the season.
 
The Farm
Mayfield is a 382 effective ha property is located 15 minutes from Ashburton, milking 1050 cows this season through a 60-bail rotary with ACR’s, Milkhub and an in-shed feeding system. Currently operating a 6 and 2 roster.
 
About You
The biggest thing you need is enthusiasm, empathy, patience, and respect for animals.

The role is drive in/drive out, so reliable transport is a must!
 
You will bring:
·         An exceptional attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare
·         Training will be given to right applicant
·         A good eye for detail and a willingness to learn
·         Ability to lift 20kg
·         Be punctual and reliable
·         The ability to work unsupervised
·         Effective communication skills
