We have an opportunity on Ajax to join our on-farm team, milking 900 cows through a 54-bail rotary.

The Opportunity
We have a Dairy Farm Assistant role available on one of our highest performing dairy farms.
You will be bringing the cows in for milking, doing the milking, shifting both the cows and the young stock, etc.  We are currently in full autumn calving so you will be supporting this as well.

You’ll be encouraged to get involved with Primary ITO courses and will be given the time and schedule to enable you to complete them, as well as scope to apply your learnings on the farm.
 
The Farm
Ajax Dairy Unit is located just outside of Taupo.  You’ll work as part of a team milking 900 cows, all autumn calving through a 54-bail rotary shed twice a day.  This team operates as a whole – no one job is left only to one person.

About You
The main thing you will bring is a positive can-do attitude, and passion and enthusiasm for dairy farming.
 
Ideally, you will also have:
·         A minimum of 1 seasons’ experience in dairy farming (preferred)
·         First class attitude to Health and Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental Management
·         Great team player and effective communication skills
·         Restricted or full NZ driver’s licence
