Bring your data and analytical skills to this sheep and beef station, just south of Rotorua
The Opportunity
If you have strong data entry and analysis skills are interested in agriculture on an industry-leading genetics farm, this Farm Technician (Genetics) role could be just the one.
You’ll enjoy a perfect blend of outdoor and indoor work, looking after three sheep and one cattle breeding programme, as well as being involved in weighing and EID scanning. 
You’ll input/record data on various farm-specific software programmes (FarmIQ, Farmax, etc.) and get involved with feed budgeting, pasture monitoring, and livestock and farm performance.   
You’ll need advanced skills with Excel and good attention to detail and accurate data entry, as you’ll be inputting data and analysing stud stock data, monthly reconciliations, etc.  You’ll liaise with our shepherds on-farm to obtain data.

The Farm
Located just 25 minutes south of Rotorua in the Waikite Valley, Waikite Farm is a 1016 ha livestock farm that has a diverse mix of enterprises, including Simmental cattle stud and Pāmu’s award-winning Texel, FocusPrimeTM terminal sheep studs.
About You
You are self-motivated and passionate about farming and bring to the role.
·       Well-developed numeracy skills and strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain absolute accuracy of data.
·       Ability to recognise any errors and inconsistencies and troubleshoot
·       An understanding of and an interest in farm work and livestock handling
·       Proven organisational skills, lateral thinking and analytical abilities
·       A current New Zealand driver’s licence
