Dairy Production Manager (2IC) - Ruru Dairy Unit - (West Coast)
 
We’ve got an opportunity for a confident 2IC/Dairy Production Manager to join this well-run farm and keep it humming.  With an established, productive team, our incoming 2IC will have high standards for cleanliness and order on the farm.  You’ll work well within established processes and procedures and will draw on your experience to suggest improvements where you see an opportunity.

As 2IC/Dairy Production Manager, you’ll have sound knowledge and experience in grazing, pasture management and feed budgeting.  You’ll be an integral resource for feed allocation, animal health and breeding, and animal records.  You’ll also work closely with the farm team to ensure continued success.

Ruru is a 441 effective ha block, milking 830 cows through a 60 bail rotary with ACR’s and MilkHub technology. Ruru is located 10 minutes from Lake Brunner, 40 minutes from a ski field, 30 minutes from Greymouth and two and a half hours from Christchurch.
 
Ideally you have Strong leadership and motivation skills, a first class attitude to Health and Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental management, and proven knowledge and implementation of grazing and pasture management, feed budgeting and profit maximisation.
